Biedermeier Sekretär, Berlin, um 1820


A fall front secretaire of tapering shape with a Schinkel pediment including a top drawer, above a fall front fitted with a leather-lined writing surface and a fitted interior consisting of ten drawers and two doors, some veneered in birds-eye-maple and fine banding, above three long drawers raised on block feet. Mahogany in book-match pattern on pinewood with ebonized escutcheons. The piece is part of a private Berlin collection and has been thoroughly restored by the previous owner.
