Bureau Plat im Louis XVI Stil, Frankreich, um 1850


An elegant kingwood and amaranth veneered bureau plat with a brass banded top and raised corner cartouches, inset with the original leather writing surface. The double faced recessed shaped frieze drawer are flanked by two double faced drawers, their handles cast in foliage. The sides are similarly applied with gilt-bronze cartouches composed of foliage and c-scrolls. The knees of the cabriole legs with elaborate pierced foliate mounts ending in gilt-bronze sabots. This Bureau Plat can be displayed in a modern or antique interior.
