Dekorative Keramik-Vase, sog. „Medici-Vase“, Frankreich, spätes 19. Jh.

Large French ceramic 'Medici' vase with copper green oxide glaze. The shape based on the famed Medici Krater in the Uffizi in Florence with an everted lip above a plain body, with loop handles rising from lion heads on either side, on a spreading base and a low square plinth. The strong color of the glaze complements the ancient shape of the Medici vase.
