A late Louis XV gilt bronze-mounted ebonized commode with a moulded royal rouge marble top with rounded corners above two drawers with gilt bronze roundels as handles, on cabriole legs with gilt bronze sabots. The insides of the drawers are painted in a pale red. This small chest of drawers with its polished black surface follows the taste of neoclassicism but is still supported by curved cabriole legs. The ebonized surface provides a bold contrast to the gilt bronze mounts and the light colored banding of the drawers.
