Elegante Transitions-Kommode mit Gittermarketerie, Frankreich, 18. Jh.

A transitional break-front commode raised on cabriole legs with gilt bronze sabots. The case of oak and softwood, veneered in kingwood and amarant with a trellis pattern of dyed boxwood. The trellis pattern continues 'sans travers' over the drawers. The commode has three large drawers, mounted with circular gilt bronze drawer pulls. The commode is topped with a white marble slab. The simple but effective design of the trellis work appears almost modern and the contrast between the wood and the white marble leads to an elegant display.
