Exquisite Louis XV Style gilt bronze chandelier decorated overall in scalloped cut crystal pendalogues with stellar jewels and moulded baluster pinnacles. The open square gauge frame supports eight square scrolling arms with foliated drip pans. The high quality gilt bronze frame with its cut crystal is drawing on Louis XV designs from the mid-18th century. A close predecessor is illustrated at: Sigrid Wechssler: Lampen, Leuchten und Laternen, Munich 1983, p. 53 An overall small but tightly arranged chandelier defined by its precise gilt bronze frame.
