Exzellentes Louis-XV-Tischchen, Frankreich, Mitte 18. Jh.


A French 18th century Louis XV carved oak side table or "Table de Milieu" with a rectangular top, scalloped apron, foliage motif and cabriole legs. The apron is delicately adorned with a finely carved central shell flanked by scrolls and sprigs of leaves. The areas surrounding the lively carvings are decorated with punchmarks. At each corner is a carved foliate motif inside a scrolling border. The table is raised on four slender cabriole legs terminating in carved hoof feet.
