Französischer Directoire Trommeltisch, ca. 1795


A Directoire pedestal cabinet whose cylindrical form is enhanced by a highly figured bookmatched walnut veneer, surmounted by a lively black and white marble top, fitted with one door open to reveal a shelved interior, on a stepped plinth base. This elegant piece easily fits into a contemporary Ambiente, it can function as a small liqueur and silver cabinet as well as a pedestal to exhibit a marble bust or other sculpture.
