Hübsche Louis XVI-Stil Bank/Window-Seat mit French Grey-Fassung, Frankreich, Mitte 19. Jh.


Serpentine fronted pale yellow painted window seat with intrinsic carving depicting a Strung-coin band along the front and sides, the backs carved with opposing gryphons and a central vase above a pierced lyra entwined with foliate. The bench is upholstered in needlework fabric on top and green silk on the side. The paintwood with beautiful patina is untouched, in a cleaned and consolidated condition. The fabric discoloured, needle work faded, worn and with loose threads.
