Louis XVI Kaminuhr in Säulenform, signiert ‚Courvoisier a Paris‘, Paris um 1770/80


The gilt brass drum case with a circular white enamel dial with Roman numerals signed 'Courvoisier a Paris,' mounted on a fluted semicircle column, surmounted by a fine gilt bronze figure of a young girl displaying its dress and wearing a straw hat, all with refined details. The spring driven movement by Courvoisier (see: Pierre Kjellberg: Encyclopédie de la pendule française, Paris 1994, p. 222), with anchor escapement, silk thread suspension, striking on the hour and half hour on a single bell.
