Mahagonie ‚Bonheur de Jour‘, Empire, Belgien 1810

With a rectangular grey fossil marble top above two mirror paneled doors and two drawers, flanked by Egyptian terms figures, above a folded leather lined writing surface and a frieze drawer, raised on square legs, joined by an incurved stretcher. The whole mounted with finely chased ormolu casts depicting winged figures, ribbons and foliage.

MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES: Mahogony, Gilt-Bronze, Marble, Mercury Mirror Plane
CONDITION: Excellent. Corrosion on mirror appear to be an indication of being the original mercury mirror plate. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading.
