Maria-Theresia-Kronleuchter, Schönbrunner Modell


A so called 'Maria-Theresia-Chandelier' with a pear-shaped cage supporting 5 arms that folk into two, holding alltogether 10 lights. The folked arms describe a 'Schönbrunner Modell' - after the the palace Schönbrunn in Vienna, the summer residency of the Empress Maria Theresia (1717-1780). Centered by a crystal obelisk and an facetted ball finial, the whole richly hang with cut-crystal pendeloques and prism. The forged metal-frame has layers of glass-stripes, fixed with thin wires. 'Maria-Theresia-Chandeliers' were made in Austria since 1730 in a great variety. In perfect restored and working condition. Hight can be adjusted by the chain.
