Paar Alabaster Cassoletten, Frankreich, Ende 18.Jh.


Very fine pair of Louis XVI gilt bronze and white alabaster cassolettes of ovoid form. A grape vine finial crowns the top, revealing an enclosed gilt bronze cast inverted candlestick below. The lower section is a stepped and fluted circular base supporting the tripod legs that have ram cloven hoof feet and are topped with bronze ram's heads.
